State of the League - A message from Mark Cohon
Quote:
Mark Cohon here, Commissioner of the CFL.
I’m writing to thank you for being a fan of our league by inviting you to something new and special for our league.
It’s a State of the League meeting for fans only, hosted by me.
It’s happening from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, November 27, in the Alberta Room of the Fairmont Palliser Hotel in Calgary. And I’d love to see you there.
Seating is very limited, so please RSVP as soon as possible to the Calgary Stampeders by replying to this email. The first 50 people to register for this event will be sent electronic tickets.
Here’s some background: At Grey Cup every year, I provide the national media with a briefing on the State of the League at a major news conference. The media are important to us, and I plan to do the event again this year. But you, our fans, are most important to us, so I decided to do similar briefing for fans only at this year’s Grey Cup. It’s a first for us, so we’re starting small (hence, the limited seating) but we’re hoping this will have the feel of a shareholders’ meeting, where you can hear from me on everything from our game to our attendance to our television ratings, and I can take your questions. After all, in many ways, our fans are the CFL.
I look forward to seeing you at Grey Cup, either at this event or some other venue. I’m really excited about the 97th Grey Cup, and sharing it with you. Thanks again for your passion for our league, and for being a fan.
Mark.

Aw man, that's a fantastic event. It's stuff like this that re-affirms why this is the greatest league in the world!
If only it weren't for this dern day job of mine, I could make it!

All I want Mark to tell me is dropping the number of Canadian starters from 7 to 4 is off the table.
