Default PK Sam needs surgery

This guy just cannot stay on the field on a consistent basis. Also, no Brandon Smith this week. That's gotta hurt.

Good thing Rambo is ready to return.

Is he?? For sure?? I think it's probably 70 / 30 still - Huff said has to have 3 consecutive practices at full speed, with no after issues before he can go. Has this happened yet?

He is a corner, not a halfback. If Browner or Anderson go down, Dixon will be the one coming in.

Whatever Rambo, Bryant, Arthur, Franklin, Burris, etc. do against bombers shouldn't be judged as anything special. Winnipeg is bringing in a group of spares and CFL hobos - if Hanks can't put the thrashin' on them then something is terribly wrong in Cowtown!!!

Hank should be able to ravage this group for 400+ but that won't happen. Huffer will pull Burris when his team is 21+ in front and Burris has at least 300 yds against my ghouls.

Bad news. But does surgery mean a scope or reconstruction or what?

Lots of leeway as to the seriousness of that statement.

Who exactly (and position) will not be playing who played last week? I know Odell Willis is out, who else?

Busby says it's a scope to learn more about the injury. I guess that it could mean anything from needing a little cartilage cleaned up to needing a full blown reconstruction. We'll see how the scope plays out. It sure is nice having a stable of good receivers. Rambo, Jackson, and Talley all can step up if we Sam is out for an extended time.

Marcellus "Marty" Bowman is out due to hand injury (WHAT?)
Alex Suber will replace either Donny Brown or another hand.
Motown Hopkins may not be ready to rumble. (undisclosed)
Willis is having issues.
Ian Logan back in for Brady Browne.
Armando Willis in for O'Dell Willis (no relation)
Mike Renaud will not be punting (L'il Beever Alex Serna is in)
Courtney Smith, training camp survivor will dress at linebacker
Derrick Doggett was cut today (PLOP says he was a spec. teams demon but not even good enough to be 3rd strong WIL)

Thats just from memory. Clark Kent may also be out to give Suber a route back in. Bombers can dress two additional canadians as Mike Renaud is out for this game (P) and Shawn Gallant (knees) has gone on the 9 game IR.

I really liked the looks of Dixon too. I'm sure he could be converted to halfback if necessary. But IIRC Huff put him on the 9-game injured list to start the season, so he won't see the field for another 5 games at a minimum.

You're probably right, however teams are allowed I believe one exemption from that rule and I don't believe we've exercised it yet by pulling anyone off the 9 game list just yet. Still, I think it's unlikely we would use it on him considering the fact that he's not likely to be starting anyway. (Then again I don't know who else is on the list.) Nothing against him. I thought he was perhaps our best DB for much of camp. He's an impressive ball hawk. If, as you suggest, he could be converted to halfback where he could patrol the slot area where the majority of passes are thrown he could potentially be a Korey Banks type player, a takeaway artist. Potentially.

So, you didn't tell the positions, so I'll go to the Bombers site and see if I can make sense of your message.

Bowman - starting outside linebacker
Hopkins - starting defensive tackle
Donnie Brown - backup defensive back (he's healthy but you think he'll be replaced by Suber who is a better player and now healthy)
O'Dell Willis - starting defensive end
Browne - starting safety who will be replaced by Logan who is the better player
Renaud - punter

So, two starting defensive linemen and your punter are hurt. You will be getting your starting safety and a defensive back back from injury. This isn't really a landslide of injuries, but I do hope that the Stamps can take advantage of the new Willis who will be making his first pro start at DE.

2 starting defensive lineman, punter, starting QB, one outside linebacker, and my buddy Douglas Ginormous Brown playing far too light and gettin' pushed around. I'd say we've got a perfect storm warning for disaster going this Saturday. If MAJOR PLOP'S ALL-STARS can pull this one out or even give HENRY THE 8TH a super scare then things will be fine. Bombers will have a hard time recovering from a 45-10 thrashing or somesuch, especially if they lose a few more key ballers. Our bullpen doesn't have too many steers left in it!!!

Actually Moton Hopkins will be playing as he has practiced for the past couple of days. Odell Willis is playing also. The changes would be:

Ian Logan returns at safety for Brady Browne.
Alex Suber replaces Clint Kent at HB.
Kent replaces Donald Brown as the dimeback.
Courtney Smith for Marcellous Bowman at WILB.
Serna doing all the kicking.

Logan is a huge upgrade from Brown.
Suber and Kent is an upgrade over Kent/Brown.
Hopkins has been good replacing Smith.
Courtney Smith has played a little, not sure how he'll do for Bowman.
Serna kicking is a downgrade.

Doug Brown has been fine.

Agreed, we probably will be fielding a better defense this game than last when we put a lot of pressure on Ray. The only key guy missing there is Bowman at outside LB and IMO he's been a question mark anyway, Smith has some experience in BC, might be time to let him see what he can do. Renaud's punting will be missed but Serna hasn't been too bad in the times he's done that for the Bombers and of course Jyles is in for Buck (it didn't look too bad last week so we'll see).

I think that putting pressure on Ricky Ray is a little different than putting pressure on Burris! Burris will make you pay for any open lanes.

True my point was more that our D wasn't spares and rejects. Bronko is always doom and gloom.
