All-time great stamps nicknames
The commissioner of nicknames, nasty nate requests the participation of all you great GSG fans in compiling a list of the greatest Stampeder nicknames of all-time. Maybe some not so great ones and some weird unheard of ones too.
Players, coaches, executives, trainers, medics, cheerleaders, legendary fans, etc. All are eligible.
I'll start things off with one of my favourite Stamp nicknames. SUGARFOOT....
of course, the older stamp fans will tell me who that is within a few minutes...
But give me a list of your favourites. Whatever comes to mind?
Thanks.....
nn/official cfl commissioner of nicknames......

I thought we did this a few weeks ago
I liked the 4 horsemen, thought it was fitting given the team logo.
Odd that Flutie never earned a nick, or did he?

The Stamps front four from late 60's to early 70's... "The Four Trees".
I can only remember three of the four players. John Helton, Dick Suderman & Craig Koinzan. Who was the fourth? Not Granny Liggins as he was traded to Toronto in 1969 where he became an All Canadian OL. Who was the fourth player?

The China Clipper is also a pretty good one. Big time inappropriate in todays politically correct world.

..... plus was freaking fearless on punt returns, in the days of NO downfield blocking on punt returns. Yes kiddies, NO downfield blocking on punt returns and no fair catch. Basically was a suicide job out there as a punt returner back in those days! One of Calgary's unsung heros from the past #17 was!

Granny wasn't traded to the Argos until 1972. He won the GC with the Stamps in 1971 but was listed as an O-Lineman though I thought that while in Calgary he only played DL....
